In 1972, Pierre Paulin was commissioned by President Georges Pompidou to redesign their private apartments at the Élysée Palace, including the dining room and smoking room, creating iconic and timeless interiors. The lamps designed by Pierre Paulin for the Élysée private apartments are distinguished by their slender stem topped with a petal-shaped diffuser. Made of lacquered metal, their center is a rosy hue, designed to diffuse a soft and flattering light.
