Made in Ohio for over a century, Gerstner chests are the gold standard for machinists, craftsmen, and serious collectors. First introduced in 2014, our collaborative 41D didn’t tinker with perfection. Built from kiln-dried, plain-sawn American cherry, it features premium brass hardware, an engraved “Measure Twice / Cut Once” ruler on the lid, and a hand-painted sash on the center drawer. Inside, the off-white-felt-lined drawers are anchored by Best Made’s signature red “X” embroidered under the lid.
This limited re-release stays fiercely true to the original, save for one crucial upgrade: a individually numbered Best Made brass dataplate. Only 100 chests are being produced, ensuring each piece—and its owner—holds a permanent spot in the brand’s history.
The build quality demands appreciation. It utilizes tongue-and-groove joinery throughout, alongside hand-fitted drawers and a locking front panel that seals with a crisp, precise click. The hand-applied stain and lacquer finish coaxes immense depth out of the cherry wood, a patina that will only improve with age and use.
